The Greenbelt Alliance Trail Crew are responsible for many of the beautiful trails that were built in the approximately 2,000 acres of natural areas now owned by the city, 1200 acres of which are open to the public. Most of these natural areas are either recharge zone or they run along creeks that feed the river. The crew helps plan the routes as much as they possibly can, to avoid erosion and even though the city is responsible for their maintenance, the Trail Crew repairs and maintains them when they have the resources. In our flash flood-prone town, that is a tough job lately. But they gather once a week and often twice a week lately, to try to keep up. They welcome volunteers who love being outdoors and getting some exercise!
