Take the Parks Master Plan survey and attend their open house as well. Please speak up for the things you want to see in your parks, both the San Marcos and Blanco River parks, and also the neighborhood parks and greenspaces that need to be preserved for aquifer recharge and protection of water quality of the river. The survey is online but the first link sent out had a kink, so if you tried earlier, please try again on this link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SanMarcosParks . Another possible glitch is on question #25. When you answer, be sure to glide the little ball on the bar below the text. Otherwise you are likely to underrate your preferred answer. For instance, if you enter “10,” intending to give the highest score, you will only be scoring 1/10th of your intent. Sliding the ball to the far left scores 100. If you don’t want to answer online, paper copies should be available soon at the Parks Department and Library. The public meeting on the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan will be Wednesday, November 8, 6 to 7:45 at the Activity Center. BE SURE TO BE THERE. The consultants from Halff and Associates will be there to run the meeting.
