Early Voting

Early voting runs through Friday, November 3. Best way to prepare is going to Voting Information, a service of the LWV, to get your personalized ballot with the same questions and answers of candidates that are in the Voters Guides.  Just enter your address for this list. Fentress Fall Fiesta Fun Run

October 28 @ 7:00 am - 5:00 pm

This run, or noncompetitive beautiful country walk, has lots of prizes and awards, and is a well-run 5K.  Or just show up at 7 or so to register then, Saturday morning in Fentress at the fire dept.   Call 512-488- 2351 for questions. This event benefits SMRF and a church and volunteer fire dept in Fentress. Or call to volunteer to help hand out cups of water, direct runners on their route, etc.

4th Flea at Price Center

Oct.28 is also the 4th Flea at the Price Center, get a booth inside or out, to clear clutter or sell art and crafts, toys, comics, clothes, essential oils, plants, furniture, jewelry, home accessories, etc., or stop by to shop from 9 to 1 p.m.   Also TRICK OR TREATING at 50 businesses downtown will be going on from noon to 3 Saturday and Price Center is one of those.  Stop at the Main St. office to get a list of participating businesses. Rainwater Revival

Rainwater Revival event is also wonderful in Dripping Springs, so read more in www.rainwaterrevival.com.  Hold this date, it is a wonderful classic hill country festival with many educational talks as well. Tiny homes, wine tour, food trailers, info on chickens, rainwater harvesting, energy solutions, you name it, all in one spot.  Check their website for full descriptions, speaker schedules, and hold this date for a short trip to Drippin’. Hot Spot Clean Up – Thompson’s Island

Hot Spot cleanup which will be at the closed park at Thompson’s Island.  It will be interesting to get inside that park and see it, while cleaning it up.  Reports this week came from Stokes Park where the dog waste is so thick it smells bad, and litter is also bad.  So maybe we’ll have enough people to also work on Stokes Park.  I’ll bring some shovels! Parks Master Plan Meeting

Take the Parks Master Plan survey and attend their open house as well.  Please speak up for the things you want to see in your parks, both the San Marcos and Blanco River parks, and also the neighborhood parks and greenspaces that need to be preserved for aquifer recharge and protection of water quality of the river.
