To preserve and protect the flow, natural beauty and purity of the San Marcos River
As you’ve seen in the Record, the Colorado based “Leave No Trace” folks are coming down to help us deal with a Hot Spot, as they call the top places in the U.S. that have serious problems with natural resources being degraded by trash or other damage. They are holding workshops to train leaders in the community on techniques that have worked elsewhere to change the littering culture. We have one happening Thursday night and have a great many community leaders attending who deal with litter, but we have just a few spots left. Let me know if you are interested 512-787-6392 and we’ll see if we can still fit you in to the Thursday night 6 to 9 p.m. one, or the Friday afternoon 1-4 workshop. Then the Eyes of SM River are leading a dive/snorkel cleanup on Sunday the 12th down near Martindale as part of the Leave No Trace week, plus the Colorado folks will be on campus in the Quad one day this week to talk with students there.
