The River Foundation is involved in numerous projects which enhance and expand knowledge of the San Marcos River, the Edwards Aquifer and the surrounding watersheds which supply it. This ranges from supporting scientific studies and research projects, land conservation in critical recharge areas, wastewater permit challenges, training water quality monitors, sponsoring educational events and festivals as well as the annual river clean up. SMRF is also a member and stakeholder in many groups and alliances designed to encourage regional cooperation, improve water quality, preserve important green spaces in the recharge zones and ensure adequate flow in the future.
