2020 River Ramble Trip Log
We announced at our Annual Members Meeting that SMRF would be hosting an exciting fundraiser this Fall in lieu of the silent auction that we typically organize. Clearly life has thrown us a curveball and we aren’t going to be able to host the gathering that we had planned, but we’d like to make lemonade out of lemons.
We have noticed that our videos of the river are very well received, especially while the parks have been closed. We also know that most people have not had the opportunity to see the glorious San Marcos River in its entirety. So we are going to give you the chance!
September 26th- I will paddle the river solo from San Marcos down to the confluence of the Guadalupe River in Gonzales and Live Stream as much as the internet will allow. My husband will support me along the way, so we will make sure that this is done in a very Covid-consciensous manner. We will have some video chats and other exciting content, so we hope you will “like” the Live Stream video and share it with your friends! If nothing else, you may see me bump into a few trees or tip into the water. There is no telling what will happen, especially after dark…. With the water level being so low I have a feeling that it will be a long and exciting trip.
First let me say that we understand that this time has been extremely difficult mentally and financially for a lot of people. If you can’t give monetarily at this time- Don’t Worry!!! We know you love the river and will support us in the ways that you can. This event is free to all, and we hope you enjoy it. For those of you who are in a position to give or become members of the River Foundation and support our work- Thank You!! We really appreciate your support.
