Originally from Houston, Tamara moved to San Marcos in the fall of 2013 to help L&M Supply become more centralized within the state. L&M is where she has gained a majority of her knowledge in erosion control and has also gained experience writing Stormwater Polution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) for new construction projects. Upon moving to San Marcos, Tamara discovered the river and immediately fell in love; the river had a huge influence in making San Marcos her forever home. In the summer of 2018 Tamara learned of water quality monitoring and wanted to become more involved so she went through the River Ranger training.
She thinks the beauty is the most obvious reason to love the river, but also enjoys how many people care for the river as deeply as she does. The history of the area and the endangered species make it important for her to protect.
