Karen Glover

Karen was raised in Virginia, but her parents were born and raised in San Marcos, so as a child, she spent her summers with her grandparents, swimming daily in the San Marcos River. “I would go back to Virginia and tell my friends about this amazing river in Texas, where you could see all the way to the bottom and observe thrillingly exotic plants and animals.” But she also remembered her mother talking about the river in the 60’s and how they had stopped swimming in it because it had gotten so polluted.

Karen moved here permanently as a young adult, largely because she wanted to be close to this river. She has served as a River Ranger and has helped us run booths at local events.

Karen has worked as a bookkeeper for small businesses and non-profits for 20 years and works at a small accounting firm in Buda.
