Niki Lane
Niki has spent the last 25 years working to protect, preserve, and share her passion for parks, preserves and natural areas. She is pursuing a masters degree in Resource Communications at Stephen F Austin State University, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology and Environmental Studies from Texas State University.
Niki is currently employed as a Discovery Center Specialist at the San Marcos Discovery Center, working on native plant propagation, habitat restoration/conservation, community and organizational partnerships, education, and cultivation of stewards of our land, the river, and its inhabitants. Niki is a bat enthusiast and volunteers in all things “batty”.
She enjoys trail running, gardening, caving, hiking, foraging, swimming, paddle boarding, herping, skateboarding, music, art, dancing and hanging out with dogs. Niki spends time at the river almost every day contemplating its beauty, strength and vulnerability.
